A distressing incident has surfaced in Haridwar, where the body of a woman identified as Uma Das (52) was discovered in a well within a house on Kailash Ghosh Road, falling under the jurisdiction of Haridebpur police station, ward number 123. Reports suggest Uma had conversed with neighbors on Thursday evening before suddenly vanishing. Allegations from local residents indicate that Uma had been subjected to regular mistreatment by her husband, son, and daughter-in-law, ultimately leading to her demise. The community accuses the family members of murdering Uma and disposing of her body in the well, highlighting longstanding grievances of Uma enduring daily torment at the hands of her kin.
Upon receiving news of the incident, the local councilor visited the scene, where an angry crowd had gathered. Subsequently, the husband, son, and daughter-in-law of the deceased were apprehended by Haridebpur police station authorities. While the family members stand accused, no official statement has been issued from their end yet.
